The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS) invites applicants to apply for the position of Pediatric & Adult Plastic Surgeon within the Division of Pediatric Surgery and Division of Plastic Surgery within the Department of Surgery.
The Divisions of Pediatric and Plastic Surgery are an integral part of the Department of Surgery and provides secondary and tertiary care services for the city of Edmonton, northern Alberta and parts of British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories, Yukon Territories and Nunavut.

The successful applicant will joinotherpediatric plastic surgeons that provide a full range of elective and trauma services to children up to age 17. The successful applicant is expected to have superior technical surgical skills, clinical judgment and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary health care team. Preference will be given to an individual with training in pediatric vascular malformations and pediatric facial reconstruction; with a strong interest in international surgery developments and opportunities. The applicant will also be expected to take Adult Plastic surgery call.
The candidate will be expected to apply for a Clinical Faculty appointment in the Department of Surgery, University of Alberta, which will be considered a separate process through the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. The candidate is expected to participate in all aspects of an academic centre, which involves clinical practice, research, teaching and administrative activities.
Candidates must hold the FRCSC in plastic surgery or equivalent. The ideal candidate will have fellowship training in pediatric plastic surgery. It is also expected that the candidate will have an appropriate Masters Degree or complete a Masters Degree in the first three to five years of practice. Remuneration is based on a fee-for service model with billing directly to Alberta Health.
